Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IEC) is aiming to achieve a leading position in creating innovative ecosystem at the level of Umm Al Quwain University (UAQU) and the UAQ Emirate. Targeting to promote the youth talents at the level of the students, UAQU’s employees and community members.

The ultimate goal is to share in the accomplishments of the UAE Centennial 2071, which was announced by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (The Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister, and the Ruler of Dubai), and in the implementation of the Blue Economy Strategy of UAQ 2031, that was announced by H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla (Member of the Federal Supreme Council of the UAE, and the Ruler of UAQ).

Among the priorities of the Center is to participate in creating an excellent education system and a diversified knowledge based economy, which would be mainly achieved by empowering our students, staff and community members with the required skills to conduct research & innovate.

The goals of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center are in match with the UAQU’s strategy as follows:

Establish a sustainable innovation infrastructure, through planning and delivery of professional development activities.
Seek for active strategic partnerships with the industry that promote the establishments of the innovation ecosystem.
Empower the students with innovation related knowledge, skills and competency, that ensure their successful employment.
Recruit and retain innovative staff and faculty members, who participate in fostering the innovation ecosystem.
Promote conducting innovative research activities, through building adequate infrastructure.
