Dr. Ifzal Ahmad’s Bio
Dr. Ifzal Ahmad, an esteemed academician from Pakistan, possesses a Ph.D. in Human Resource Management and brings over 15 years of experience in teaching, research management, and professional engagements across various national and international entities. He is presently an Associate Professor at the College of Business Administration at Umm Al Quwain University, UAE, and is on leave from Karakoram International University (KIU), Gilgit, Pakistan, where he has significantly contributed since 2010 as Assistant Professor and then as Associate Professor.
Ifzal's postdoctoral studies were conducted at the University of Sharjah, UAE. Previously, he has completed his PhD from Air University, Islamabad Pakistan, and a master’s degree from Leeds Metropolitan University, UK. His academic contributions are noteworthy, encompassing over 30 research articles and the authorship of two books, primarily focusing on corporate social responsibility, human resource management, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
In his tenure at KIU, Ifzal has held key positions such as the Director of Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), and the Director of the Business Incubation Center (BIC). His leadership in these capacities has resulted in the successful completion of more than 25 research projects, securing over 50 million Pakistani rupees in research funding, and mentoring over 50 startups. His efforts in the BIC led to a significant training initiative for over 1000 young individuals in various freelance skills, earning accolades as the best program for women's economic empowerment by the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Ifzal also holds a notable role as a Board Member at the esteemed US-based accelerator, Regional Accelerator, and Innovation Network (RAIN Catalyst) in Oregon. He also actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for several leading journals in his field. Ifzal is a certified trainer from Business Edge – International Finance Corporation and the British Council Pakistan for Social Entrepreneurship. He also remained a graduate member of Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) UK in 2009.
Ifzal is also known for his interest in technology, alongside personal hobbies that include playing cricket, reading, and watching films.
