Department of Tourism and Archaeology and Umm Al Quwain University Organize an Archaeological Exhibition

Sheikh Majid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla , Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Archaeology in Umm Al Quwain, in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Finance in Umm Al Quwain, inaugurated an archaeological exhibition for the archaeological site of Tell Abraq, which sheds light on the most prominent artifacts discovered at the site in the excavations, with the aim of promoting and preserving the historical heritage of the site and enhancing the cultural heritage.
 
The exhibition, which is held at Umm Al Quwain University for two days, includes various archaeological discoveries from Tell Abraq, which is located between the Emirates of Umm Al Quwain and Sharjah and dates back from the third millennium BC until the third century AD.
 
The exhibited discoveries included statues in the form of human figures, animals, and artifacts such as parts of pottery, seals, necklaces, and others, which were discovered at the archaeological site of Tell Abraq.
 
The exhibition gives the public  an opportunity to learn about the history of the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain and its archaeological sites, which reflect the archaeological richness of the emirate, in addition to enhancing the value of the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain and highlighting its historical status.
 
The opening of the exhibition was attended by His Excellency Muhammad Sorour Al Naqbi, Acting Secretary-General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, Prof. Dr. Galal Hatem, Chancellor of Umm Al Quwain University, a number of directors of government organizations in the emirate, employees of the Department of Tourism and Archaeology and the Italian Archaeological Mission in UAQ.
