Students Scholarships


Umm Al Quwain University believes that participating in the development of a well-educated new generation is a noble task. Therefore, Umm Al Quwain University offers multiple types of scholarships to encourage more students to benefit from the high level of educational services provided and encourage them to continue their university education and scientific superiority. Those scholarships are provided to students according to several terms and conditions which allow them to get partial scholarships and up to 100% scholarships on course fees as below: - 

  1. Scholarships based on Secondary High School Grades.
  2. Scholarships based on the Study Program.
  3. Excellence scholarships for Existing Students
  4. Relatives scholarships
  5. Corporate and institutional agreements scholarships
  6. Low-income students, orphans, widows, divorced women, and people of determination.
  7. Scholarships of the administrative and faculty members

 

1.Secondary High School Scholarships:

  1. The first distinguished student in high school shall be awarded a deduction of 100% for the first year. The scholarship will continue if the student maintains a CGPA of 3.80 or above.
  2. The second distinguished student in high school shall be awarded a deduction of 75% for the first year. The scholarship will continue if the student maintains a CGPA of 3.80 or above.
  3. Students of 97.00% and above in high school will receive a scholarship of 70% for the first year. The scholarship will continue if the student maintains a CGPA of 3.80 or above.
  4. Students of 95.00% - 96.99% in high school will receive a scholarship of 50% for the first year. The scholarship will continue if the student maintains a CGPA of 3.80 or above.
  5. Students of 90.00% - 94.99% in high school shall be awarded a 30% scholarship for the first year. The scholarship shall continue if the student maintains a CGPA not less than 3.50.
  6. Students of 85.00% - 89.99% in high school shall be awarded to a 20% scholarship for the first year. The scholarship shall continue if the student maintains a CGPA not less than 3.00.
  7. Students of 70.00% - 84.99% in high school shall be awarded to a 15% scholarship for the first year. The scholarship shall continue if the student maintains a CGPA not less than 2.50.

 

2.Scholarships based on the Study Program (NEW)

Umm Al Quwain University offers partial scholarships to new students who will join the University to study in the following Bachelor Programs;

  1. Bachelor of Business Information Systems, 50% scholarship is offered for the first year, it shall be continued if the student maintains a CGPA not less than 3.80.
  2. Bachelor of Business Administration in Digital Marketing, 50% scholarship is offered for the first year, it shall be continued if the student maintains a CGPA not less than 3.80.
  3. Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting, 40% scholarship is offered for the first year, it shall be continued if the student maintains a CGPA not less than 3.00.
  4. Bachelor of Business Administration - Finance and Banking, 40% scholarship is offered for the first year, it shall be continued if the student maintains a CGPA not less than 3.00.
  5. Bachelor of Arts in Communication - Digital Journalism, 40% scholarship is offered for the first year, it shall be continued if the student maintains a CGPA not less than 3.00.

 

3.Excellence scholarships for Existing Students

Students with excellent achievement after completion of eight courses in their study at the University shall be awarded a partial scholarship of the course fees in the following semester as below:

  1. Students with a cumulative average of 3.8 or more shall be awarded a 50% scholarship for the following semester.
  2. Students with a cumulative average of 3.5 to 3.79 shall be awarded a 30% scholarship for the following semester.
  3. Students with a cumulative average of 3.0 to 3.49 shall be awarded a 20% scholarship for the following semester.

 

4.Relatives scholarships

The first and second connections relatives students who register for the same semester not less than 04 courses are given scholarships as follows:

  1. The first connection “the first student” gets a 20% scholarship on course fees.
  2. The second student gets a 30% scholarship on course fees.
  3. The third student gets a 40% scholarship on course fees.
  4. The fourth student gets a 50% scholarship on course fees.

Conditions:

  • Brothers /sisters should be from the same father.
  • Maintain a CGPA of 2.5 or better.

 

5.Corporate and institutional agreements scholarships

Umm Al Quwain University is establishing agreements with corporations and institutions in the private sector (like schools) and governmental sector (like UAQ Government, UAQ Police, Esaad Committee, Fazaa, …, etc.). Students enrolled through the signed agreements shall be granted the deductions provided in the agreement as per the terms and conditions stated in it and as per the university policies and procedures.

  • E.g., the Government of Umm Al Quwain Staff & their first-grade relatives can be awarded a 50% Scholarship for the first year, which can be continued if they maintain a CGPA of 3.8 or above.

 

6.Low-Income Students

Umm Al Quwain University offers partial scholarships to low-income students like Orphans, widows, divorced women, and people of determination on the below conditions.

  1. The student must apply for the scholarship if he is eligible for the required criteria and should support his application with the required documents proving his entitlement to the deduction
  2. The application will be reviewed by the concerned committee which will advise the discount rate to be applied after the required approvals

Conditions:

  • Maintain a CGPA of 2.5 or better.

 

7.Scholarships of the relatives of administrative and faculty members

  1. A scholarship of 50% of the tuition fees is given to the administrative employees and their first-degree relatives.
  2. A scholarship of 40% of the tuition fees is given to the academic faculty members and their first-degree relatives.

Conditions:

  • Maintain a CGPA of 2.5 or better.

 

General Requirements to Maintain the Scholarship:

  1. The scholarships mentioned above apply only for the value of the Course fees in Bachelor Programs
  2. The scholarships mentioned above apply to the fall and spring semesters only of each year and over 04 years and the scholarship does not include summer semesters.
  3. Must maintain a standard course load of a minimum of 12 credit hours (04 courses each semester), pro-rate basis of scholarship will be applied.
  4. Scholarships do not cover repeated courses.
  5. Scholarships do not cover remedial courses.
  6. Students should not have any academic warnings.
  7. A cumulative grade point average (CGPA) not less than the required rate.
