What is Admission requirements for bachelor's degree in UAQU?

The university will accept applications submitted by students throughout the year and provide them with the required information. Where the Admission and Registration Committee selects the academically qualified candidates to join the university, after examining the academic records of the submitted applications. They shall be notified of the results of acceptance or rejection in writing.

Eligibility: The conditions contained in this document are applicable only to new students / intake of academic year 23/24 and onwards.

Each applicant is required to submit the following documents:

 

​​Submitting the original / certified Emirati high school certificate, or its equivalent, with a grade not less than the following:

• 6 recent personal photos with the full name written on the back.
• Payment of a non-refundable application fee of 1300 AED «not including VAT».
• Payment of refundable student insurance fees of 1000 AED.
• Payment of the semester registration fee of 500 AED per semester «not including VAT».
• Copy of a Valid Passport (with Edbara and Unified Number for UAE Nationals) and a Valid Residence for Non-nationals.
• A copy of the family book for national students.
• A copy of a valid Emirates ID.
• Certificate of good conduct (criminal status).
• Filling out the application form.
• National Service certificate or an exemption letter for male nationals.
• The above fees do not include VAT.
• Obtaining proficiency certificates in English, Arabic and mathematics, according to the following schedule:

** Note: A student who does not meet the above conditions during admission can register in the alternative remedial courses at the university (English, Arabic, and Mathematics) and pass the course as an alternative requirement for the specified proficiency exam.
This applies only to the exams coded above with (**)

Note that these remedial courses are not counted within the enrolled academic program, pass credits and cumulative grade point average (CGPA).

 

 

 

 

Can courses studied be equated for students who transferred from other universities?

Yes, This is done through the Admissions and Registration Department in coordination with the colleges.

 

 

Does the Umm Al Quwain University offer evening classes?

Yes, the university provides evening lectures from Sunday to Thursday, starting from 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Additionally, classes are offered on weekends and public holidays from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. However, the availability of evening lectures and classes on weekends may not be guaranteed throughout the entire four years.

 

Who is the academic advisor?

The academic advisor refers to a faculty member responsible for guiding a specific number of students in all matters related to their academic, social, and health affairs since their admission to the college.

 

What is the student-to-faculty ratio in classrooms?

 

- The number of students during the Spring semester 2023-2024: 977

- Total number of faculty members during the Spring semester 2023-2024: 46

- Therefore, the student-to-faculty ratio is: 21.2
