Admission Requirements
The university will accept applications submitted by students throughout the year and provide them with the required information. Where the Admission and Registration Committee selects the academically qualified candidates to join the university, after examining the academic records of the submitted applications. They shall be notified of the results of acceptance or rejection in writing.
Bachelor’s Degree Application Requirements
Each applicant is required to submit the following documents:
a.Required Personal Documents

Original/certified Emirati high school certificate or its equivalent.

Copy of a valid passport (including Edbara and Unified Number for UAE Nationals) and valid residence for non-nationals.

Copy of family book (for UAE nationals).

Copy of a valid Emirates ID.
-
Certificate of good conduct (criminal status).
-
National Service certificate or exemption letter (for male UAE nationals).
-
6 recent passport-sized photos with the full name written on the back.
b. Application Fees and Payment Details

Payment of Non-refundable application fee: 1,300 AED (excluding VAT).

Refundable student deposit: 1,000 AED.
-
Student ID fee: 150 AED (excluding VAT).
-
Semester registration and services fee: 770 AED per semester (excluding VAT).
c. Other Application Steps

Complete the application form.

Pass a personal interview with representatives of the desired college.

Applicants must meet the proficiency requirements specified in the admission criteria.
Admission Criteria
Below are the admission criteria and proficiency test requirements for all programs offered by Umm Al Quwain University (UAQU) in both English and Arabic, for both Bachelor’s and Master’s programs. These requirements ensure that students from various academic backgrounds have multiple pathways to meet the necessary proficiency criteria for their chosen programs, thereby supporting the achievement of program outcomes.

General Terms

For missing proficiency tests the applicants can be conditionally accepted for one academic year.
-
These proficiency criteria will be applied for both new and conditional continued students.

Students who have completed non-Ministry of Education high school curricula do not need to prove their English proficiency if the program is taught in English
-
Applicants whose high school average is less than 60% may be accepted after register/Pass in 3 remedial courses English, Math and Arabic conducted by UAQU (Not applicable for Bachelor of law program)
Admission Requirements Master's Degrees – Law College
a. Academic Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Law or any other directly related discipline from an accredited university recognized by the CAA (Ministry of Education - UAE).

A minimum CGPA of 2.5 on a 4.0-point scale.
b. Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents:

True copy of the certified bachelor’s degree certificate and transcript (attested by the UAE Ministry of Education for graduates of universities in the UAE).
-
Original equivalency letter from the UAE Ministry of Education for applicants graduating from universities outside the UAE, along with a true copy of the certified bachelor’s degree certificate and transcript.

A fully completed ‘Application for Admission’ form.
-
Valid copy of the Emirates ID.
-
3 passport-sized photographs.
-
Copy of a valid passport (with Edbara and Unified Number for UAE Nationals) and a valid residence permit for non-nationals.

A copy of the family book for UAE national students.
-
No Objection letter from the National Service Department (for male Emirati students).
-
A police clearance certificate.
-
Proof of English proficiency: An official English certificate with a minimum TOEFL score of 450 (133 CBT, 45 iBT), 4.5 IELTS Academic, Linguaskill B1, or any equivalent test recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education.
c. Application Fees and Payment Details:

Non-refundable application fee: 3,000 AED (excluding VAT).

Refundable student deposit fee: 1,000 AED.

Student ID fee: 150 AED (excluding VAT).
-
Semester registration and services fee: 770 AED per semester (excluding VAT).
d. Interview and Assessment:
-
Pass the interview for the Master’s programs offered by the College.
Exemption:
-
Pass UAQU Entrance Exam with minmum score 70
-
Or Continued students from Bachelor programs within one year of graduation could be waved from English proficiency test.

Or Pass English Remedial Course conducted online or face-to-face by university.
Conditional admission
-
All documents above must be submitted, and conditional admission may be granted in the following cases:
-
Students with the Bachelor CGPA less than 2.5 and equal or greater than 2 may be admitted conditionally but first must study 3 remedial courses and pass all of them with a minimum GPA 3.
