Dean’s Speech

Welcome to the College of Business Administration at UAQU!

Our Business School is renowned for its commitment to academic excellence, small class sizes, intricate learning experience, and modern facilities. We are delighted to offer a wide array of programs that cater to the diverse interests and aspirations of our students, all of which are designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the ever-evolving landscape of the business world.

In our Finance major, we delve into the intricacies of managing money and investments, preparing our students for roles in investment- or corporate banking, corporate finance, or wealth management. Our Accounting program instills the principles of transparency and financial accountability, paving the way for careers in auditing, financial analysis, and corporate governance. Our Human Resource Management major focuses on nurturing the most valuable asset of any organization – its people.

We are especially excited to announce our two new programs, to be launched soon: In the Digital Marketing program, we embrace the digital era in marketing and advertising: From social media marketing to search engine optimization, students will gain the skills to create impactful marketing campaigns. Our program in Business Information Systems will equip students with the knowledge to harness technology and data for informed decision-making.

Beyond our comprehensive programs, we are acutely aware of the immense challenges that confront future business leaders. Two challenges, in particular, loom large on the horizon – Sustainability and Digitalization. Sustainability is no longer an option; it is an imperative, which is why our Business School infuses it into our curriculum, ensuring that students graduate not only with a keen understanding of its importance but also with the tools to drive sustainable change. Digitalization, too, is reshaping industries and business models at an unprecedented pace. We are committed to preparing our students for this digital revolution by integrating cutting-edge technology into our programs, and fostering a culture of innovation.

Part of our efforts in this regard are pursued in collaboration with our in-house think tank, The Center For Future Economy, which allows us to create, share and exchange knowledge with our non-academic partners in the industry and across government entities. This real-world input is crucial to offering our students the best possible education.

As future business leaders, our students will have the opportunity and responsibility to lead with purpose, integrity, and a commitment to making a positive impact on society. Our Business School is their launching pad, providing the knowledge, skills, and ethical framework necessary to thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing business environment.

To our current and future students, I say: Embrace the opportunities a degree in Business holds with enthusiasm and determination. Your journey here will be marked by personal growth, collaborations, lifelong friendships, and a steep learning curve, and I have no doubt that it will be immensely rewarding.

Thank you, and welcome to our Business School!

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Chris Rauch
