Biography
Dr. Mona Gabard Shehata is an Assistant Professor specializing in Digital Marketing and Communication Studies, focusing her research and teaching on the intersections of digital communication, consumer behavior, and media ethics. Her academic work investigates how digital platforms influence communication patterns across global markets, with particular emphasis on social media dynamics and the spread of information in multicultural settings. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Poitiers (France) in 2021, where her doctoral research provided critical insights into rumor propagation on social media within multicultural contexts, enhancing the understanding of digital misinformation and intercultural communication.
Over more than 15 years of international teaching experience, Dr. Shehata has held academic positions in the Middle East, Europe, and the United Kingdom. From 2010 to 2018, she served as a Senior Lecturer at the French University in Egypt and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. Between 2019 and 2024, she taught at leading French institutions, including the University of Poitiers, the University of Lille, and the University of Tours. Additionally, she was an adjunct faculty member at Eton Academy in the UK (2023) and the International University of Monaco (2024).
Throughout her career, Dr. Shehata has developed and taught courses in Digital Marketing, International Marketing, Strategic Communication, Digital Media Ethics, and Advertising. Her teaching philosophy bridges academic theory with practical application, equipping students with critical thinking and skills essential to today’s digital economy. Beyond academia, she actively engages in research and consultancy on digital marketing strategies and contributes to initiatives that promote media literacy and cross-cultural dialogue in digital environments.
