Biography
Dr. Abdulghani Qassem is Dean of the College of Law at Umm Al Quwain University, where he has held the position since January 2020. His academic expertise centers on criminal law, which he has studied extensively throughout his educational and professional career. He earned his Ph.D. in General Law with a specialization in Criminal Law from the Dubai Police Academy in March 2017, graduating with a grade of “Very Good.” Prior to that, he completed a Master’s degree in General Law (2007) and a Postgraduate Diploma in General Law (2003), both from the Dubai Police Academy. His academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Aden in 1992, where he graduated with honors and received a Certificate of Excellence in Academic Achievement from the Presidency of the Republic of Yemen.
Dr. Qassem is actively engaged in legal scholarship and academic leadership. He is a member of several academic and scientific committees at Umm Al Quwain University and has contributed to numerous local and international conferences, workshops, and symposia. His professional involvement includes serving on thesis discussion and evaluation committees for master’s degrees in criminal sciences, and he has published widely in the field of law. Beyond academia, Dr. Qassem plays a role in the local education community as a member of the Board of Trustees of Umm Al-Qura Private School in Umm Al Quwain and serves as the school’s legal advisor.
