Short biography
Magdi El-Bannany obtained his PhD from Liverpool Business School in the UK. He is a Professor at Umm Al Quwain University in UAE and Ain Shams University in Egypt. He was a Research Fellow at Liverpool Business School in the UK for ten years. He was an associate professor and a Chair of the Department of Accounting at the University of Sharjah in the UAE for thirteen years. He was a senior faculty member at Majan University College in the Sultanate of Oman and the American University of RAK in the UAE. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK and a Fellow of the Emirates Association for Accountants & Auditors in the UAE. He has more than thirty-five years of experience as a practicing chartered Accountant in Egypt, the UK, and the UAE. He has more than sixty published papers in internationally indexed journals i.e. Scopus indexed Journals and conferences. His teaching and research interests include auditing, financial reporting quality, intellectual capital, social responsibility, bank profitability, earnings management, firm performance, corporate governance, and computer applications in Business.
