Biography
Dr. Saleh Al-Rashed is an Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations, with over two decades of academic experience in university teaching and scholarly research. Throughout his career, he has served in several prominent academic institutions across Syria, the Arab world, and internationally, which has enriched his perspective and deepened his expertise in his field. Dr. Al-Rashed obtained his Ph.D. in Political Science from the Lebanese University in 2010. Since then, he has held key academic positions at renowned institutions such as the University of Damascus, the Canadian University of Dubai, and Al-Sham Private University. He currently serves as a faculty member at Umm Al Quwain University in the United Arab Emirates, where he contributes actively to the development of the Political Science and International Relations program and plays an important role in preparing future professionals in this dynamic field. Over the course of his academic career, Dr. Al-Rashed has taught a wide range of specialized undergraduate courses, including Introduction to Political Science, International Relations, Geopolitics, Political Thought, Arab–European Relations, Research Methodology, Political Economy, Public Administration, Foreign Policy Analysis, and Comparative Political Systems. He has also supervised numerous graduation projects addressing contemporary and advanced issues in political science and public policy, while fostering students' analytical and research skills. At Umm Al Quwain University, Dr. Al-Rashed currently teaches core courses in the Political Science and International Relations program, such as Introduction to Political Science, International Relations, Geopolitics, and Modern Arab History. Through his teaching, he continues to equip a new generation of students with the tools of critical and analytical political thinking and expand their understanding of regional and global political contexts. In addition to his teaching and supervision responsibilities, Dr. Al-Rashed is an active researcher. He has published several peer-reviewed research papers and participated in international academic conferences, addressing a wide array of topics within his research interests—demonstrating his ongoing commitment to scholarly advancement and academic development.
