    Biography


    Dr. Hany Hegazy is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Umm Al Quwain University, United Arab Emirates. Prior to joining Umm Al Quwain University, he served as an Associate Professor of Sociology at Suez University, Egypt, where he held several academic and administrative positions, including Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Education and Student Affairs, Head of the Department of Sociology, Director of the Center for Social and Developmental Studies and Research, and General Coordinator of Student Activities.

    Dr. Hegazy has more than 15 years of academic and research experience in teaching, academic supervision, research, and university administration in Egypt and abroad. He has also gained academic experience at several higher education institutions, including Suez University, Damanhour University, and Suez Canal University, in addition to academic experience in Saudi Arabia and other Arab universities.

    His research interests focus on the sociology of development and sustainability, social transformations, urban environmental issues, financial inclusion, digital culture, and contemporary social challenges. His scholarly work has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals indexed in major international databases, including Scopus and Web of Science. His research addresses issues related to sustainable development, social change, digital transformation, and emerging societal challenges from sociological and interdisciplinary perspectives.

    Dr. Hegazy has supervised a number of master's and doctoral theses and has served as a peer reviewer and editorial board member for several academic journals. He has also contributed to various scientific and academic committees and councils at the national, regional, and international levels. In addition, he has participated in numerous scientific conferences and academic events and contributed to academic and research development initiatives.

    Alongside his academic work, Dr. Hegazy is an internationally certified Training of Trainers (TOT) professional. He has contributed to the implementation of training and community-based programs in collaboration with governmental and international organizations, supporting the application of academic and research knowledge to community needs and contemporary development challenges.

    Terminal Degree: Ph.D. in Sociology, Benha University (Egypt), 2012.

  • Dr. Hany Hegazy has extensive teaching experience in sociology and related social science disciplines at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His teaching experience encompasses courses related to sociology, development, social change, contemporary society, digital culture, and other areas of social sciences.

    He is also actively involved in academic supervision, curriculum development, assessment, and the development of learning activities that connect theoretical knowledge with contemporary social issues. His teaching approach emphasizes critical thinking, analytical skills, student engagement, and the application of sociological concepts to real-world social challenges.
