Biography

Dr. Hanan Hussain is an Assistant Professor of Business Information System at Umm Al Quwain University. She is actively involved in teaching, research, and academic activities, with a strong focus on AI/ML and Business Intelligence. Previously, she was a Postdoctoral Research Faculty member at Canadian University Dubai, where she researched AI techniques for segmenting objects in high-resolution 3D reconstruction using VEM. She also served as a Faculty Lecturer at the University of Dubai and Emirates Aviation University, and as a Full-time Researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Research Center (AIRC) at Ajman University, where she focused on research challenges in medical imaging, network security, and financial markets using AI/ML methods.

Dr. Hanan's work has gained recognition across the MENA region and was recently showcased at the 4th and 5th Forums for Women in Research (WIRF 2023 and 2025). She also serves as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE (Q1) and has authored several research papers in high-impact journals, including ACM Transactions, IEEE Access, and Springer Nature AI Review. Dr. Hanan has presented her research at top-tier A* conferences, such as ACM SenSys, and has contributed as a research volunteer at the University of Massachusetts, USA.
