    Dr. Fatma Mohammed Ali Khallaf is an Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity at the College of Arts and Sciences at Umm Al Quwain University (UAQU), United Arab Emirates. Her teaching and research focus on cybersecurity, secure communication systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), and emerging technologies, with particular emphasis on medical data protection, image encryption, steganography, and privacy-preserving frameworks. Her work explores the intersection of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and intelligent systems by developing advanced solutions for secure data transmission, cyberattack detection, and digital risk mitigation in smart and healthcare environments.

    Her research has been published in internationally recognized and high-impact journals, covering areas such as AI-driven cryptography, blockchain-based healthcare security, biometric protection systems, and IoT cybersecurity. She has also contributed to international conferences and actively engages in research addressing real-world challenges in cybersecurity and secure communications.

    Prior to joining UAQU in 2026, Dr. Khallaf held several academic positions at Ahram Canadian University in Egypt, where she progressed from Teaching Assistant to Assistant Professor. During her tenure, she contributed to teaching, research development, and academic activities across engineering and computing disciplines. She also participated in international training programs and workshops, including collaborations with recognized institutions such as UNESCO-ASFEC, delivering sessions in information security and digital protection.

    Dr. Khallaf holds a Ph.D. in Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering from Menoufia University, Egypt. She has received several prestigious awards in recognition of her research excellence, including the Women in Radio Science (WIRS) Award for her Ph.D. research under the International Union of Radio Science, as well as the Best Master’s Thesis Award from Menoufia University. She has developed a strong interdisciplinary academic profile integrating cybersecurity, secure communications, and intelligent technologies, contributing to the advancement of education and research in the field.
