  • Biography

Dr. Mohammed B. Al Basheir is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Umm Al Quwain University, United Arab Emirates. His academic and research interests include applied mathematics, differential geometry, manifolds, exterior differential systems, differential forms, and nonlinear partial differential equations. His work focuses on the geometric formulation and analysis of nonlinear differential equations, with particular interest in integrability, conservation laws, and the application of differential-geometric methods to mathematical modelling and physical systems.

Prior to joining Umm Al Quwain University, Dr. Al Basheir held academic positions at Sudan University of Science and Technology in Sudan and Shaqra University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he spent approximately ten years. His teaching experience includes undergraduate courses in calculus, algebra, statistics, and other areas of mathematics. Throughout his academic career, he has contributed to mathematics education and student development, emphasizing analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

Dr. Al Basheir's research focuses on exterior differential systems, differential forms, manifolds, and nonlinear evolution equations. His research interests include integrability, prolongation structures, and conservation laws, particularly through the Estabrook–Wahlquist approach. He is also interested in applying differential-geometric techniques to mathematical models of physical systems, including fluid flow and related problems in applied mathematics. His research has resulted in publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, contributing to the study of geometric methods and nonlinear differential equations.

In addition to his teaching and research activities, Dr. Al Basheir has contributed to academic administration, curriculum development, and quality assurance. During his tenure at Shaqra University, he participated in academic committees and activities related to curriculum development and evaluation, academic scheduling, and program assessment. He also undertook responsibilities associated with the Statistics and Information Unit, contributing to academic coordination, institutional development, and the continuous improvement of educational activities.

Dr. Al Basheir has participated in professional development workshops organized by Shaqra University's Vice Presidency for Development and Quality. These workshops covered institutional and program self-study reports, quality standards in academic teaching, student assessment, and academic advising and student support. This training complements his experience in academic quality assurance and educational development.

His teaching philosophy emphasizes strong mathematical foundations, rigorous reasoning, and the connection between theoretical concepts and practical applications. Through his teaching, research, and academic service, Dr. Al Basheir aims to contribute to the advancement of mathematics education and applied mathematical research.
