    Biography


    Dr. Hany is an Associate Professor of Biotechnology and the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Umm Al Quwain University (UAQU). Prior to joining UAQU, he served as Director of Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness, Program Coordinator, and Dean of the College of Biotechnology. Dr. Hany has extensive experience in quality assurance and institutional effectiveness, particularly in university licensure, re-licensure, initial program accreditation, program re-accreditation, and international accreditation processes. He has also delivered numerous academic workshops focused on professional development for faculty members. As a Program Coordinator and Dean of the College of Biotechnology, Dr. Hany has been actively involved in both administrative and academic leadership. His responsibilities have included curriculum development, preparing and authoring self-study reports for new academic programs and specializations. His postdoctoral research focuses on biotechnology, and he has published multiple papers in areas such as: Follicular dynamics in dairy animals and its relationship to superovulation response and embryo quality; Factors affecting embryo production and transfer; In-vitro maturation and fertilization of rabbit oocytes, as well as semen processing. Additionally, Dr. Hany has contributed to research in: Studies on cytochrome allelic variants and clopidogrel metabolism in cardiovascular disease therapy; The role of FABP2 and PPAR-γ genes as risk factors for dyslipidemia in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in residents of the United Arab Emirates; Associations between PPAR and FABP2 gene polymorphisms with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and insulin resistance across different populations. Dr. Hany is an experienced educator, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in biotechnology. His teaching portfolio includes subjects such as Cell Biology and Physiology, Introductory Genetics, Molecular Biology, Immunology, and Biosafety. He employs modern and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Furthermore, he has conducted various hands-on training sessions that promote critical thinking and experiential learning through experiments in biotechnology courses.
