Biography
Dr. Dalia Hassan is a Professor of Public Relations at the College of Mass Communication at Umm Al Quwain University. She currently serves as the Chair of the Scientific Research Committee at both the university and the college level, as well as Chair of the Curriculum Development Committee at the college.
From 2020 to 2023, she served as Head of the Public Relations and Advertising Department at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University. Prior to that, she was Head of the same department at the College of Mass Communication at Canadian International College from 2016 to 2018. She has taught a variety of courses in the fields of media research methods, public relations, integrated marketing communications, and advertising.
Dr. Hassan has authored and presented more than 25 scientific research papers in the fields of public relations, marketing, advertising, the use of artificial intelligence in education, and crisis management. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals across the Arab world and internationally. She has participated in numerous academic conferences in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Bahrain, France, and Malaysia. She has also authored three academic books in Arabic.
She is a member of the committee responsible for international accreditation (AQAS – Germany) for the College of Mass Communication at Umm Al Quwain University since September 2023. The college received full accreditation in 2025. She was also a member of the Media and Languages Institutes Sector Committee in Egypt from 2019 to 2023.
Dr. Hassan serves as a reviewer for several prestigious academic journals, including the Egyptian Journal of Media Research, Journal of Public Opinion Research, Scientific Journal of Public Relations and Advertising Research (Cairo University), Journal of Media Research (Al-Azhar University), Arab Journal of Media and Communication (King Saud University), and Insights into Language, Culture & Communication (Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport).
In addition, she is a member of the promotions committee for professors and assistant professors in media at the University of Baghdad, and acts as an external examiner for Master’s and PhD theses across various media faculties in Egypt, Bahrain, and Iraq. She has supervised and examined nearly 60 graduate theses at the master's and doctoral levels.
