A Panel Discussion on Social Media and Arab Youth - Risks and Confrontation

   November 9, Umm Al Quwain University, in cooperation with Al Wasl University, organized a panel discussion entitled “Social Media and Arab Youth - Risks and Confrontation,” in the presence of Prof. Ahmed Bushnaq, Vice President of Al Wasl University for Institutional Support, and the Dean of the College of Law at Umm Al Quwain University, Dr. Abdul Ghani Al Shuaibi, and a number of academic memebrs and students from both universities.

The panel discussion was moderated by the student Bashayer Khaled from Al Wasl University. She began the panel by giving a brief about the university’s establishment and development of its colleges and departments. Then, student Sultana Al Shehhi from Umm Al Quwain University started the first topic of the session, which focused on introducing social media. After that the student Fatima Obaid from Umm Al Quwain University addressed the second topic, the dangers and classification of social media, and the student Maryam Al-Zaraa from Umm Al Quwain University presented the third topic on confronting the dangers of social media from the legal and media aspects. In the fourth part, the student Moza Saqr from Umm Al Quwain University explained how to benefit from social media and deal with it positively on the personal, social and professional levels.

 The session was concluded by the student Bushra Ahmed from Umm Al Quwain University, speaking about the role of social media in the lives of Arab youth and how to deal with it responsibly and constructively. In conclusion, the Umm Al Quwain University team was honored.
