Umm Al Quwain University (UAQU) participated in the exhibition accompanying the 12th World Environmental Education Congress, held at ADNEC - Abu Dhabi from January 29 to February 2. The Congress was organized by the Environment Agency and the World Environmental Education Congress, and attended by numerous prominent figures in the environmental field, along with the participation of many esteemed higher education institutions in the country and local and global environmental organizations.

Dr. Suzan Shahin (Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, Assistant Professor at the College of Arts and Science) represented the University's pavilion at the Congress exhibition, in addition to the participation of Mr. Ahmed Khamis (Student Recruitment Department).

The University's pavilion focused on raising public awareness about the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), by presenting a sustainable and innovative model to the attendees, "The Emirati Landscape of Umm Al Quwain University", as an inspiring story that is the first of its kind in the Emirate and across all educational institutions in the country, exclusively using local species in landscape planting. This supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal number 13, "Climate Action."

The exhibition was visited by many experts, researchers, influencers in the environmental field, inspiring youth and numerous educational and environmental institutions within and outside the country to use a natural solution to combat the effects of global warming, through the use of local plants that are more capable of withstanding climate changes.
