Friday, September 20, 2024, the College of Law at Umm Al Quwain University organized an orientation meeting for new students joining the university during Fall 24-25. The event aimed to introduce the various services of the university. The meeting was attended by all new students and faculty members of the college.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Abdul Ghani Al-Shuaibi, started the meeting, with a welcoming new students and thanking them for choosing Umm Al Quwain University to complete their study. This university which has become a shining beacon in spreading knowledge and science. Dr. Abdulghani said that Umm Al Quwain University is a pioneer academic community, provides students with knowledge and skills that help them excel and succeed in the labor market after graduation.
Then the Dean of the College gave a brief overview of the College and its accreditation history, saying that the College obtained accreditation for four Master's programs. Then he reviewed the administrative structure of the College, and reviewed the study plan and explained the importance of academic advising. He urged new students to communicate with their advisors on a permanent and effective basis to achieve quality. Then the Dean spoke about the controls and guidelines for midterm and final exams, with the need to adhere to academic regulations and systems. He also urged students to pay attention to academic achievement.
The Head of Admissions and Registration spoke and explained the role of the department and reviewed the steps for dealing with new program, and that all requests and correspondence will be through the system. Then the Library Manager spoke about the importance of the library, and each student has the right to enter the library. The Head of Student Services Support Center also spoke and explained the tasks of the center and urged students to adhere to the university regulations and systems.
At the end of the meeting, a discussion session was opened for the students, to listen to their comments and inquiries and responding to their enquiries.
