Umm Al Quwain University concluded the final day of the 9th International Public Procurement Conference (IPPC), held for the first time in the Middle East. The two-day conference saw wide participation from academics and professionals from various parts of the world, including the United States, China, Belgium, Russia, Singapore, India, the Czech Republic, England, Netherlands, Poland, and Finland.
The closing day was a key focus for discussing the scientific research presented by researchers from different universities and international institutions. Some UAQU faculty members, Dr. Omnia Salem, Dr. Samira, Dr. Misbah participated in the conference where they presented their papers, which received significant appreciation, addressing vital public procurement issues.
Their research focused on procurement challenges from legal, financial, and environmental perspectives and discussed the increasing role of technology and artificial intelligence in improving the efficiency and transparency of public procurement.
During the discussion sessions, the researchers highlighted the importance of adopting transparent and fair practices in public procurement and its impact on achieving substantial savings in public budgets and promoting sustainability. The discussions also emphasized international cooperation and the exchange of expertise as critical factors in developing sound practices in this field.
