10/16/2024

In a significant step towards fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, Umm Al Quwain University (UAQU) hosted its first seminar today to discuss the launch of a groundbreaking Business Incubator Program in collaboration with the Center for Future Economy (CFE). The event was attended by faculty, students, and industry professionals, all eager to learn about the new opportunities this initiative will provide.

Dr. Chris Rauch, Chancellor of UAQU, opened the seminar by outlining his ambitious vision for the Business Incubator Program. He emphasized the university’s commitment to creating a platform where students can transform their innovative ideas into viable businesses. “This program will not only help students polish their entrepreneurial skills but will also contribute to the local and national economies by fostering new business ventures,” Dr. Chris stated, highlighting the broader impact the incubator could have on the UAE's economic landscape.

Dr. Ifzal Ahmad, Dean of the College of Business Administration, followed with an inspiring talk on entrepreneurship and the origins of great ideas. He encouraged students to think creatively and seize the opportunities provided by the university to showcase their potential. “Entrepreneurship is about identifying problems and finding unique solutions. Good ideas often come from everyday observations, but the key is to act on them and bring them to life,” he remarked.

Both speakers stressed the importance of providing students with platforms to experiment, innovate, and engage in activities that can create a positive impact, not only on their personal development but also on the wider community.

The seminar marks the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at equipping UAQU students with the tools and support necessary to succeed in the fast-evolving entrepreneurial landscape. The Business Incubator Program will offer mentorship, resources, and networking opportunities, setting the stage for future entrepreneurs to thrive.

UAQU’s leadership is committed to ensuring that this incubator becomes a launchpad for the next generation of business leaders and innovators. Keep an eye on this space as the program unfolds and offers exciting new prospects for students with entrepreneurial aspirations. The registration for the first batch is now open for all UAQU students until October 20, 2024.
