Sociology Program at the College of Arts and Sciences at Umm Al Quwain University, in cooperation with UAQ Business Women Council, organized a social forum on legislation and laws supporting the family and society, which highlighted the efforts made by the UAE to protect the family and society. The forum was attended by Her Excellency Aisha Laitim, Member of the Federal National Council, Chair of UAQ Businesswomen Council, Lawyer Mohammed Talal Al Tamimi, and Mouza Salem Al Shomi, Board Members of Juvenile Association. The seminar was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Issa Al Kashf and a group of academics and executive leaders, in addition to a group of students. The forum was opened by Mr. Maan Al Saati with a welcome speech to the participants and attendees. After that, Dr. Ahmed Saqr, Coordinator of Sociology Program, started the forum activity, stressing in his speech the importance of this forum in shedding light on the laws that support family stability and community progress. The forum, moderated by Prof. Osama Abdel Bari, discussed several topics that focused on the importance of society understanding the various legislations and their effects on daily life.

Aisha Laitim stressed the need to educate individuals about the laws that affect their personal and professional lives, and to guide them to benefit from them to achieve positive results at the individual and societal levels. She pointed out the importance of cooperation between community leaders and various institutions to highlight the government's efforts to preserve the family and societal stability.

For his part, Lawyer Mohammed Al Tamimi presented the second topic, which focused on the positive impact of the Personal Status Law on the family and society, and its role in regulating family relations such as marriage, divorce, alimony, etc., and its impact on family stability, protecting the rights of individuals within it, and enhancing societal cohesion by regulating family matters according to clear legal controls.

Mouza Al Shomi presented the "Wadema Law" and its effective role and positive impact on children, which aims to ensure care and protection for children from any form of abuse or exploitation and contribute to securing a safe and sound environment for children's growth and ensuring they obtain their basic rights such as education, healthcare, and the right to a decent life. The forum was concluded by Dr. Ahmed Saqr, Coordinator of the Sociology Program, with practical recommendations aimed at developing legislation that supports the family and society in line with modern changes, while emphasizing the role of the law in achieving family and social stability. At the end of the forum, the speakers were honored in appreciation of their efforts in enriching the discussion on this important topic by Her Excellency Aisha Laitim, Member of the Federal National Council, Chair of UAQ Businesswomen Council, Dr. Hani Bakr, the University Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Rabaa Taleb, Dean of the College of Arts and Science.
