As part of the keenness of the College of Mass Communication at Umm Al Quwain University to enhance its students practical experience, the students of Communication and Crisis Program made a field visit to the International Crisis and Disaster Conference, which was held from October 14 to 16 in cooperation with Interpol.
The conference discussed the role of media, communication and public relations in crisis and disaster management, and the importance of cooperation between local and international agencies to contain losses and reduce the effects of crises.
During the visit, students were briefed on the latest crisis management strategies and tools through workshops and presentations given by experts in the field. They also had the opportunity to communicate with specialists from various sectors, which added to their practical knowledge and developed their skills in dealing with crises.
