UAQU’s College of Arts and Sciences Holds an Orientation Session for New Cybersecurity Students.

As part of its commitment to supporting new students and familiarizing them with the university learning environment, the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Umm Al Quwain organized an orientation session for new students enrolled in the Cybersecurity program for the Spring 2024-2025 semester.The session was attended by Dr. Rabaa Taleb, Acting Dean of the College, and Dr. Saada Khudrji, Head of the Bachelor’s Program in Cybersecurity, along with faculty members and the technical support team. Additionally, the session welcomed the Director of Student Services, who provided students with a comprehensive overview of university policies and campus regulations, as well as Dr. Ali Abbas, Director of the University Library.

During the session, Dr. Rabaa Taleb warmly welcomed the first cohort of Cybersecurity students, expressing her delight at their enrollment and reaffirming the university’s dedication to equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to keep pace with advancements in this vital field. Dr. Saada Khudrji provided a detailed explanation of the program requirements, credit hours, and the range of available electronic resources and facilities, including computer labs and smart classrooms, ensuring an enriching educational experience. The session also featured a welcome speech by student Ahmed Abdel Fattah, who spoke on behalf of his peers, expressing their enthusiasm for the program and their aspirations to develop their skills in cybersecurity.

The event concluded with a guided tour of the university library, where students explored the digital services available, including access to academic book collections and electronic research resources across various platforms.This orientation session reflects the University of Umm Al Quwain’s commitment to fostering a supportive academic environment, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their educational and professional journeys in the field of cybersecurity.
