The Sociology Program at the College of Arts and Sciences, University of Umm Al Quwain, organized an orientation session for new students to welcome them and introduce them to the program, available academic services, and career opportunities in the UAE job market.
The event was attended by faculty members of the program and the college, led by Dr. Rabaa Taleb, Dean of the College, Dr. Ahmed Saqr, Associate Professor of Sociology and Program Director, Professor Osama Abdel Bari, Professor of Sociology, Dr. Haitham Al-Taani, Assistant Professor of Sociology, and Mr. Moan Al-Sati, Lecturer of General Requirements. Additionally, Dr. Ali Abbas, University Library Director, Ms. Anoud Al-Dhaheri, Student Support Services Officer, and Ms. Maryam, Representative of the Technical Support Unit, were present.
The speakers provided valuable insights on academic pathways, student activities, and academic advising. They emphasized the importance of this stage in building a successful academic journey and encouraged students to make the most of the opportunities available at the university. They also highlighted the significance of preparing for graduation with strong academic knowledge, practical experience, and professional skills.
