On April 29, senior students from the Public Relations program at Umm Al Quwain University organized a classic car festival under the title “The Role of Public Relations in Enhancing the Value of Classic Cars as Cultural and Investment Symbols.” The event was held on campus under the supervision of Dr. Wafaa Tharwat and in collaboration with the Sharjah Old Cars Club.
The festival was inaugurated by Dr. Chris Rausch, Chancellor of Umm Al Quwain University, Dr. Hani Bakr, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Haitham Al Samarrai, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, who praised the festival’s theme and commended the active participation of relevant institutions and classic car enthusiasts.
The exhibition featured over 50 classic cars representing various historical eras, showcasing rare and vintage models some over a century old. These vehicles captured the attention of attendees and added a rich cultural dimension to the event, reviving the elegance and uniqueness of the past.
The festival included an interactive discussion session led by Hamad Al Kaabi and Aisha Al Baloushi from the Sharjah Old Cars Club. The session explored the cultural value of classic cars, investment opportunities for youth in this field, and the strategic role of public relations in preserving and promoting this heritage. The speakers also addressed key challenges faced by enthusiasts and investors, proposing solutions to support the sustainability of this passion.
The session witnessed active audience engagement and lively discussions, resulting in the exchange of ideas and positive insights on the historical significance and investment potential of classic cars.
This event is part of Umm Al Quwain University’s commitment to supporting student initiatives that reflect the university’s vision of aligning academic projects with community needs while promoting the cultural identity of the UAE.
