The Continuing Education Center at Umm Al Quwain University organized a specialized training course titled "Positive Citizenship in the Year of Community" on Thursday, May 1st, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote community awareness and instill national values within the academic community.
The course was presented by Dr. Ahmed Al Shihi, a professor at the College of Mass Communication at Umm Al Quwain University. During the session, Dr. Al Shihi addressed the concept of positive citizenship, its various forms, and practical applications, in addition to the qualities of an effective citizen and their role in supporting societal stability and development.
The course also discussed the importance of positive citizenship in building communities, addressing contemporary challenges, and achieving sustainable development goals. It highlighted models and practices that foster a sense of belonging and active participation in public life.
The course saw active participation from several faculty members and students of Umm Al Quwain University, who engaged in meaningful discussions and contributions on the course topics.
At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Omania Salem, Director of the Continuing Education Center, honored Dr. Ahmed Al Shihi in recognition of his outstanding efforts and effective contribution to the success of the course, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in supporting the university’s mission and enhancing its role in community service.
