Umm Al Quwain University Celebrates Innovative Talents of School and University Students.

On May 14, 2025, Umm Al Quwain University celebrated the achievements of young innovators from both schools and the university, in the presence of college deans and a distinguished group of faculty and administrative staff.

The event featured a variety of activities, beginning with a workshop presented by Dr. Afzal Ahmed, Dean of the College of Business Administration, entitled "Entrepreneurship in the Age of Artificial Intelligence." The session explored the vital role of AI applications and solutions in creating entrepreneurial ideas for ambitious projects, both globally and particularly within the UAE.

Following the workshop, outstanding students were honored for their winning submissions in the “Innovator’s Mark 2” competition across two tracks—school students and university students. Each winner received a monetary prize of AED 1,000.

In the school track, Yahya Amro from Al Shola Private School in Ajman won for his project “My Prayer, My Life.”
In the university track, Omar Al-Saeedi and Abdullah Naseef were recognized for their project “Drone X.”

The university also honored students who participated in the “The Company” competition, including Hamza Yahya, Kira Kazanalova, Judat Louay, and Maryam Khan.

Special appreciation was extended to the Civil Defense Department and Lt. Col. Yousef Al-Qaiwani for their valuable collaboration in organizing the “Together We Innovate 2” competition held during Innovation Month 2025.

Umm Al Quwain University expressed sincere gratitude to all departments and teams supporting innovation, beginning with University President Dr. Chris Rausch for his continued encouragement of innovation at the institution. The university also recognized the efforts of innovation supporters Dr. Suzan Shaheen, Mr. Moan Al Saati, Ms. Afnan Bassam, and Ms. Al Anood Al Dhaheri, as well as the Media Center team, Ms. Amna Al Ali and Mr. Ahmad Al-Najjar; the University Website Developer, Ms. Aseel Al-Khazraji; the Facilities and Support Services Department, represented by Mr. Hassan Badawi; and the IT Department, represented by Mr. Firoz Akande and Mr. Nizar Ahmed. Appreciation was also extended to the Student Services Support Center, the Human Resources Department, and all academic colleges.

The Innovation Support Team, Dr. Suzan Shaheen and Ms. Al Anood Al Dhaheri, led the student recognition ceremony. They were joined by Dr. Afzal Ahmed, Dean of the College of Business Administration, and Dr. Rabaa Abadel, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, in honoring the winners from the Business Administration and Cybersecurity programs.

The innovative solutions presented during the event were highly praised and well received by the audience. Umm Al Quwain University continues to serve as a hub for nurturing innovation and supporting creative minds across the Emirate and the nation.
