On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, the College of Law at Umm Al Quwain University organized a training moot court session as part of the Internal Practical Training course. The session addressed a family law case under the theme “Divorce Due to Harm and Discord.” It was supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Mohammed Samer Al-Qattan and attended by a distinguished group of faculty and administrative staff, along with a large number of students and alumni.

The event began with a welcoming speech delivered by student Habiba Fares, who served as the master of ceremonies. In her remarks, she emphasized the significance of moot court sessions, which the college regularly organizes to enhance students’ practical skills and bridge the gap between theory and real-world legal practice. Such efforts play a vital role in preparing highly qualified legal professionals capable of navigating the challenges of the legal field.

Dr. Al-Qattan noted that the College of Law at Umm Al Quwain University is among the pioneers in integrating theoretical education with hands-on experience. Through the incorporation of moot courts as a core component of the Internal Practical Training course, and with the continuous support of the university administration, the college aims to equip students with essential legal competencies.

The session received widespread praise from attendees for the outstanding performance of the participating students. They demonstrated a high level of professionalism in portraying courtroom roles and analyzing both the legal and social dimensions of the case, creating an experience that closely resembled an actual court proceeding.

The event concluded with the university administration presenting certificates of appreciation to all participants, in recognition of their exceptional efforts in making this academic activity a success. The event was met with enthusiastic engagement from the audience, who expressed their eagerness to see more of these enriching training activities in the future.
