Umm Al Quwain University Participates in the Young Entrepreneurs Caravan with a Workshop and Panel Discussion.

Umm Al Quwain University participated in the Young Entrepreneurs Caravan event, which made its stop in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain as part of its third destination. The event was organized by the Federal Youth Authority in collaboration with the Department of Economic Development in Umm Al Quwain. The university contributed through a workshop and an interactive panel discussion presented by a group of faculty members, alongside a business entrepreneurship consultant, and attended by a distinguished audience of students, entrepreneurs, members of the Umm Al Quwain Youth Council, and representatives of other youth councils.

The panel discussion featured the participation of H.E. Khalid Al Nuaimi, Director of the Federal Youth Authority; H.E. Mohammed Al-Kashf, Member of the Federal National Council (FNC); H.E. Aisha Rashid Al Litim, FNC Member, Board Member of the Umm Al Quwain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Chairperson of the Umm Al Quwain Businesswomen Council; H.E. Mona Rashid Tahnoun, FNC Member; H.E. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim, Director General of the Umm Al Quwain Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Dr. Hani Bakr, Vice Chancellor of Umm Al Quwain University.
Dr. Bakr highlighted the university’s role in empowering youth through its Business Incubators Program, which organizes workshops to help young people start their own projects, and through its ongoing collaborations with community institutions such as the Department of Economic Development and the Ministry of Economy.

The workshop aimed to introduce young participants to the fundamentals of entrepreneurial thinking and the mechanisms of transforming ideas into innovative and sustainable projects. It also addressed the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the early stages of their ventures and strategies to overcome them through well-planned approaches and institutional support.

The “With a Consultant” session featured Dr. Mohammad Oudat and Dr. Magdy Al-Bannani from Umm Al Quwain University, who presented insights into business incubators and provided practical guidance and entrepreneurial advice to students and young entrepreneurs on how to develop and effectively implement project ideas.

The event also included a panel discussion titled “Success Stories of Young Entrepreneurs in Umm Al Quwain”, which hosted one of the university’s graduates, the founder of Profile Specialty Coffee. He shared his entrepreneurial journey and experience in establishing his own business, emphasizing that the university was the first supporter in developing his creative skills and transforming his idea into a successful project.

Faculty members affirmed that such initiatives contribute significantly to raising students’ awareness of the importance of entrepreneurship as a key driver of economic growth, while encouraging them to gain practical experience that enhances their skills and fosters their innovative capacities.

University representatives also praised the national role of the Young Entrepreneurs Caravan in empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and strengthening the connection between academic institutions and entities that support small and medium enterprises.
