Al Arabiya TV presenter Mirna Hamed delivered an engaging practical workshop titled “The Official Spokesperson in Crises and Disasters” for students enrolled in the Production of Media Materials in Crises and Disasters course at the College of Mass Communication, Umm Al Quwain University.
The workshop, supervised by Dr. Nadine Essam, the course instructor, focused on the vital role of the official spokesperson during disasters and crises, as well as on the mechanisms for formulating media statements directed to the public at various stages of a crisis. Ms. Hamed also presented practical examples and hands-on exercises on on-camera delivery skills, voice modulation, managing difficult questions, and building credible media messages.
This workshop comes as part of the College of Mass Communication’s commitment to integrating academic knowledge with real-world professional experience, providing students with opportunities to engage directly with distinguished media professionals thereby enhancing their skills and competencies in the field of modern media.
