Professor Osama Abdel Bari, Professor of Sociology at Umm Al Quwain University, conducted a training workshop titled “Preparing Social Work Professionals and Equipping Them with Essential Skills” in collaboration with the Department of Social Services – Government of Sharjah, held at the Elderly Care Home on October 29–30, 2025.

This participation comes as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen community engagement between its Sociology Program and the wider Emirati community. Over two consecutive days, trainees at the Social Services Department’s Training Center in the Mleiha Branch learned about key skills required in various areas of social work and applied them through interactive workshops.
