The College of Arts and Sciences at Umm Al Quwain University organized a workshop titled “Using Artificial Intelligence Tools in Academic Publishing”, delivered by Dr. Mohamed Al-Saidi, Assistant Professor of Statistics and Data Science, with the attendance of faculty members and researchers.

The workshop covered the latest trends in leveraging AI tools in scientific research, with a focus on:

• Google Scholar Labs as the latest free tool available to researchers
• A five-stage framework supporting the academic publishing process
• Practical applications across multiple disciplines
• The distinction between specialized research tools and general text-generation tools

During the workshop, it was emphasized that:
“Artificial intelligence is a supportive partner for the researcher… not an author of their research.”

This workshop comes as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to enhance the research capabilities of faculty members and to support the effective use of modern technologies in advancing scientific research.
