Mass Communication Students Organize a Discussion Session on Autism Spectrum Disorder Awareness at Al Safia Council in Ajman.

In the presence of Dr. Hani Bakr, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Haitham Abdulrahman, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, students from the Public Relations Program organized a community awareness discussion session at Al Safia Council in Ajman, in collaboration with the Ajman Society for Social and Cultural Development, on Thursday, 13 November. The event was held as part of their graduation project titled “The Role of Health Media in Raising Awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder Among Families and the Community”, under the slogan “Autism is not a barrier… With your support, we make a difference.” The project is supervised by Prof. Dalia Hassan, Professor of Public Relations at the College of Mass Communication.

The session featured the participation of H.E. Counselor Tareq Al Saif, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Tareq Rehabilitation and Autism Center, and Mr. Mohammed Azzam, Special Education Specialist, who discussed key aspects of autism spectrum disorder, its symptoms, and effective methods of support and communication. The event also included an exhibition showcasing artworks created by a child with autism.

The session concluded with a ceremony honoring the guests and participating entities in appreciation of their contributions to the success of the event and their support for the university’s students in promoting community awareness and responsible media practices.
