As part of Umm Al Quwain University’s commitment to enhancing community awareness and reinforcing the role of educational institutions in protecting youth and supporting family stability and on the occasion of celebrating World Education Day on January 24 and marking the Year of the Family 2026 the College of Arts and Sciences at Umm Al Quwain University organized an awareness lecture titled “Education and the Family: A Safety Valve” delivered by Professor Osama Abdel Bari as part of the University’s efforts to support awareness initiatives with a positive societal impact

The event was attended by a delegation from the Umm Al Quwain Police General Headquarters Community Protection and Prevention Department including

Lieutenant Colonel Nasser Sultan bin Yousuf Head of the Community Policing Section Major Dr Sheikha Shatha Nasser Al Mualla Head of the Community Programs Branch and Major Dr Khaled Abbas Ibrahim Head of the Community Patrols Branch

From the University the event was attended by Dr Hani Bakr Vice Chancellor Dr Rabia Taleb Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences along with a number of faculty members administrative staff and students

During the lecture Professor Osama Abdel Bari discussed the importance of integration between education and the family in building well balanced student personalities and their pivotal role in preventing negative behaviors and promoting ethical and social values which contributes to achieving family and community stability and reinforcing a system of positive values within society

The attendees emphasized the importance of such awareness lectures in spreading a culture of prevention and strengthening institutional partnerships between educational and security entities praising the leading role played by Umm Al Quwain University in serving the local community supporting purposeful community initiatives and enhancing social responsibility

At the conclusion of the event Umm Al Quwain University expressed its appreciation to the Umm Al Quwain Police General Headquarters Community Protection and Prevention Department for their constructive cooperation and distinguished efforts in the success of this awareness lecture and also valued the meaningful academic contribution of Professor Osama Abdel Bari reflecting an effective model of institutional partnership in serving the community
