Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Finance and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Umm Al Quwain University, attended the graduation ceremony of Umm Al Quwain University students, the “Year of the Family” cohort, which was held on the evening of the day before yesterday at the university campus.
The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mualla, Special Advisor to His Highness the Ruler of Umm Al Quwain; Her Excellency Caroline Gunter López, Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay to the UAE; members of the Federal National Council; directors of government entities; members of the academic and administrative staff; and parents of the graduates.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al Mualla extended his congratulations to the graduates and their families on this blessed achievement, which crowns years of academic effort and scholarly pursuit in striving for excellence and distinction, and marks the beginning of their journey into various fields of work and service. He also praised the efforts of the University’s Board of Trustees, administration, and academic staff for their dedication and sincerity, and for the remarkable achievements and esteemed academic standing the University has attained in a short period of time.
He further congratulated the families and parents of the graduates, affirming that these successive cohorts of Umm Al Quwain University graduates represent the true and inexhaustible wealth of the beloved UAE.
The graduation ceremony commenced with the arrival of Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al Mualla and the playing of the UAE national anthem. He was received by Dr. Hani Bakr, Vice Chancellor of the University, along with members of the academic and administrative staff and a number of officials.
The graduating cohort was named after the “Year of the Family,” in honor of the noble initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him.
Dr. Hani Bakr, Vice Chancellor of the University, then delivered a speech in which he expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, and to His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Umm Al Quwain University, for their continuous support and patronage of education, knowledge, and youth, and for fostering a positive spirit among them. He also acknowledged their ongoing support and close follow-up of the University’s programs, plans, and projects, and extended sincere thanks to the members of the Board of Trustees and the academic and administrative staff for their unwavering support, encouragement, and motivation of students throughout their educational journey.
Graduate Salwa Ali Salem Al Nuaidi delivered a speech on behalf of the graduates, expressing her pride and happiness at graduating after years of perseverance in the pursuit of knowledge. She affirmed that the graduates carry with them not only their degrees, but also cherished memories from the university halls, and extended heartfelt thanks to the faculty members for the knowledge and guidance they provided throughout the academic journey.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al Mualla honored the graduates and presented them with their academic certificates, congratulating them on their success and transition to a new phase of their long journey toward shaping the future, and wishing them continued success, prosperity, and a bright future filled with achievement.
