College of Mass Communication at Umm Al Quwain University Organizes the “Afaq 2” Graduation Projects Exhibition Showcasing Students’ Media Innovations,

The College of Mass Communication at Umm Al Quwain University organized the Spring 2025–2026 Graduation Projects Exhibition under the theme “Afaq 2”, in the presence of Dr. Hani Bakr, Vice Chancellor of Umm Al Quwain University; Professor Dr. Haitham Al Samarrai, Dean of the College of Mass Communication; academic supervisors; faculty members; and students.

The “Afaq 2” exhibition comes as an extension of the first edition, “Afaq 1,” which was organized during the previous Fall semester, continuing the College’s efforts to support student creativity, showcase outstanding media projects, and foster an academic environment that encourages innovation and connects theoretical knowledge with practical application.

The exhibition featured innovative student projects in the fields of new media and public relations. The projects included video productions and awareness films, website design, discussion sessions, and interactive competitions, in addition to projects addressing the use of artificial intelligence, sustainability, social responsibility, health awareness, and the culture of consuming organic products.

The exhibition attracted significant interest from attendees, who explored the students’ ideas and creative work. The projects reflected an advanced level of media skills and the ability to utilize modern digital tools to produce meaningful content that serves the community and keeps pace with the rapid developments in the media and communication sector.

In a statement, Dr. Hani Bakr emphasized that this year’s projects focused on issues related to modern technology and community service, reflecting students’ awareness of topics aligned with contemporary developments and current media trends. He praised their ability to present creative ideas and solutions that contribute to the development of media content and strengthen its awareness role.

For his part, Professor Dr. Haitham Al Samarrai noted that the “Afaq” exhibition represents the outcome of years of learning and practical application and reflects the College’s commitment to supporting creativity and innovation. He praised students’ interest in artificial intelligence and community-related issues that serve society and align with modern developments, affirming the College’s dedication to preparing media professionals capable of competing in the labor market.

A committee representing labor market entities also participated in evaluating the projects. The committee included Mohammed Al Kashf, Member of the Federal National Council; Dr. Ali Nasser, Chairman of the Emirates Public Relations Association; and Noura Al Mutairi, journalist at Al Bayan Newspaper. They praised the quality and professionalism of the projects and the creativity demonstrated by the students in implementing their work.

The exhibition concluded with honoring the participants, supervisors, and evaluation committee members in appreciation of their efforts in supporting students and encouraging them to present innovative media projects that contribute to serving the community and advancing media development.
