The College of Mass Communication at Umm Al Quwain University organized a welcoming and orientation meeting for new students enrolled in the Fall 2026–2027 semester, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Mass Communication, Professor Dr. Haitham Abdulrahman, and members of the faculty.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean welcomed the new students and provided an overview of the programs offered by the College, explaining the study plans for each program. The students were also introduced to the College’s academic faculty, along with an explanation of academic advising procedures and its importance in planning their academic pathway, selecting courses, and monitoring academic progress. He emphasized the College and faculty’s commitment to developing students’ capabilities, enhancing their use of digital tools in the communication process, and the importance of adopting artificial intelligence in serving various fields of media.
During the meeting, Mr. Omar Harzallah, Director of Admissions and Registration, provided an overview of the course registration process and the key services offered by the department throughout the students’ academic journey. He also introduced the students to the University’s registration system.
The Information Technology Department also delivered an orientation session covering the electronic services provided by the University, including creating and using the university email account, accessing the Learning Management System (LMS), and utilizing student portals and various electronic services.
The students were also introduced to the services of the University Library, including its learning resources, references, databases, and other resources that support teaching, learning, and scientific research, in addition to other services available to students throughout their studies.
Students were also introduced to the services provided by the Student Services Center, which offers a range of services and programs, including counseling and support services, student activities, and official communication channels with the Center. The Media Center also highlighted the key services it provides to students on campus.
