The College of Arts and Sciences at Umm Al Quwain University welcomed its new students on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at a welcome and orientation meeting for the Fall 2026–2027 semester. The meeting was held at the University Library in the presence of the College Dean and faculty members, with the participation of several relevant university departments and sections.
At the beginning of the meeting, the College Dean welcomed the new students and wished them success and achievement throughout their academic journey. He emphasized the College’s commitment to providing a supportive and motivating academic environment and strengthening direct communication between students and faculty members.
Faculty members provided students with an overview of the College and its academic programs, areas of study and specialization. They also reviewed study plans and program requirements and highlighted the importance of academic advising and its role in helping students select courses, plan their academic pathway, and monitor their academic progress.
The meeting also included introductions to faculty members and their areas of specialization, as well as an overview of their role in providing academic and research support to students. Students were encouraged to communicate with faculty members and benefit from their expertise throughout their studies, while also emphasizing the importance of participating in the academic, research, and student activities organized by the College.
Relevant university departments and sections also participated in the meeting, introducing students to key services and university systems related to their academic life, including course registration procedures, electronic services, the Learning Management System (LMS), as well as University Library services, learning resources, and databases available to support their studies and academic research. Students were also given the opportunity to raise their questions and learn more about the various services and resources available to them.
The meeting concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuous communication between students, the College, and faculty members. The College of Arts and Sciences reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and empowering students to build a successful academic journey, enhance their university experience, and prepare them for future requirements.
