Umm Al Quwain University launched the Scientific Research Excellence Award for the academic year 2025–2026 on Friday, September 25, 2026. As part of the launch, a workshop was held on the award criteria and presented by the Chair of the Scientific Research Committee, with the participation of faculty members, the Vice Chancellor, and College Deans. The initiative reflects the University’s ongoing efforts to support research, promote a culture of excellence and innovation, and encourage faculty members to enhance their scholarly output and the quality of academic research and studies.
The award reaffirms the University’s commitment to strengthening its position in scientific research and fostering an academic environment that encourages creativity and knowledge-based and applied research, contributing to the achievement of its strategic goals and aspirations for excellence among higher education institutions.
Winners will be selected according to the Organizational Performance Evaluation Framework (OBEF) criteria for higher education institutions in the field of scientific research, issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the United Arab Emirates. This ensures that research achievements are evaluated according to clear criteria that support quality and efficiency.
The winners are scheduled to be announced in October 2026, with valuable financial awards to be presented in recognition of their achievements and contributions to advancing knowledge and enhancing research output at the University.
