As part of the College of Law at Umm Al Quwain University’s commitment to enhancing students’ practical skills and bridging academic knowledge with professional practice, undergraduate Law students visited the Department of Economic Development in Umm Al Quwain on the morning of Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The visit was supervised by Dr. Nadia Al Bayati, instructor of the Consumer Protection Law course.

The visit aimed to familiarize students with the practical application of consumer protection legislation, the procedures adopted by relevant authorities to safeguard consumer rights, and the mechanisms used to monitor businesses’ compliance with the laws and regulations governing commercial activities.

It also sought to deepen students’ understanding of the role of regulatory authorities in addressing commercial violations and to introduce them to the procedures for receiving and handling consumer complaints. This experience helped connect the legal concepts studied in the classroom with their practical application in an institutional work environment.

The initiative forms part of the educational requirements of the Consumer Protection Law course and reflects the College of Law’s commitment to enhancing learning outcomes through field visits and direct engagement with entities responsible for implementing legislation. Such initiatives contribute to developing students’ legal analysis skills and their understanding of practical procedures related to consumer protection.

The visit further reaffirms the College’s commitment to providing a comprehensive educational experience that extends beyond theoretical learning, enabling students to gain practical insights into the responsibilities of government institutions in enforcing the law. This experience supports their professional readiness and strengthens their ability to address legal matters in the workplace.
