The ninth edition of the UAE Hackathon 2026 for the emirates of Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah concluded today, Friday, 30 October 2026, at Umm Al Quwain University. Organized by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), under the slogan “Creating Impact Beyond Ideas” and supported by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre, the event wrapped up after three days of training sessions, workshops, and innovation challenges aimed at fostering a culture of innovation, developing digital skills, and supporting digital transformation in the UAE.
The third and final day featured presentations of the innovative projects and ideas developed by participants before judging panels. The projects were evaluated according to a set of criteria, including creativity and innovation, feasibility, the effectiveness of the proposed solutions in addressing the challenges presented, and their potential to create a positive and sustainable impact on the development of government services and the enhancement of quality of life.
Participating teams also presented their solutions and projects, which incorporated modern technologies and artificial intelligence. These presentations reflected the skills and knowledge participants had acquired throughout the hackathon and their ability to transform creative ideas into practical, implementable solutions.
Umm Al Quwain University’s hosting of the event reflects its commitment to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, providing an environment that encourages creativity and knowledge exchange, and empowering young people to develop their skills and strengthen their ability to apply knowledge and technology in addressing future challenges. This aligns with the UAE’s vision of building a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.
