Umm Al Quwain University participated in the Ras Al Khaimah Excellence Award 2026, organized by the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The event brought together several universities and academic institutions from across the United Arab Emirates as part of ongoing efforts to support innovation and scientific research and to strengthen the role of students in developing innovative technological solutions with social and economic impact.
The students’ participation was supported by Dr. Hani Bakr, Vice Chancellor of the University, and supervised by Dr. Fatima Mohammed Khalaf, Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity. This participation reflects Umm Al Quwain University’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and scientific research among its students, while encouraging their active involvement in academic and innovation competitions nationwide.
Two university teams qualified for the final stage of the competition. The first team presented “Due59,” an intelligent educational platform designed to promote the ethical and proper use of artificial intelligence in academic and educational environments. The team consisted of Yara Sayed Abdel Ghani from the Cybersecurity Program and Jana Kamel Diab from the College of Business Administration.
The second team presented “SpectraLock,” an innovative cybersecurity project that utilizes advanced physical security concepts to create a unique and non-replicable digital identity aimed at enhancing authentication systems, protecting data, and supporting industrial cybersecurity applications. The team included Ibrahim Salem Al Sherhan Al Nuaimi, Abdullah Mohammed Al Habsi, Saeed Mohammed Al Habsi, and Mohammed Nasser Al Madani, all from the Cybersecurity Program.
