As part of its ongoing efforts to expand its strategic partnerships and reinforce its role in serving the community and supporting sustainable development, Umm Al Quwain University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday, July 6, 2026. The agreement establishes an institutional framework for collaboration in the fields of scientific research, training, and entrepreneurship, contributing to the strategic objectives of both parties while supporting economic and knowledge-based development.
The signing ceremony took place at Umm Al Quwain University. The MoU was signed on behalf of the University by Dr. Hani Bakr, Vice Chancellor, and on behalf of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry by Dr. Rashid Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Chamber.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge in areas of mutual interest through the implementation of specialized programs and initiatives. These include organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences; delivering specialized training programs and courses; exchanging professional visits and expertise; promoting innovation and entrepreneurship; and creating new opportunities for the business community.
The agreement also provides for cooperation in implementing joint awareness initiatives, promoting the services and programs offered by both parties, and organizing specialized events and exhibitions.
Both parties emphasized that the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding reflects their shared commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships and expanding cooperation in ways that serve their common objectives. The partnership will help build stronger links between academia and the business sector, support scientific research, enhance training and professional development programs, foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, serve the business communities of Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah, and contribute to the UAE's comprehensive sustainable development.
