College of Mass Communication Students Organize a Panel Discussion on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Media Crisis Simulation.

Students of the Communication and Crisis Management Program at the College of Mass Communication, Umm Al Quwain University, organized a panel discussion on Monday, July 6, 2026, as part of their graduation project entitled “The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Media Crisis Simulation and Decision-Making Support,” under the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Human Decision.” Supervised by Dr. Suhair Fahd Mohammed, the event aimed to highlight the applications of artificial intelligence in media crisis simulation and decision-making support, while exploring its role in advancing media crisis management and enhancing institutional preparedness for future challenges.

The event was attended by Dr. Hani Abdulrahman Bakr, Vice Chancellor of Umm Al Quwain University, Dr. Haitham Abdulrahman Al Samarrai, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, in addition to a number of faculty members and professionals interested in artificial intelligence, media, and crisis management.

The panel featured Colonel Dr. Eng. Ibrahim Hameed Al Miyahi, an expert in the field, and Retired Colonel Juma Salem Al Zaabi, who discussed the role of artificial intelligence technologies in media crisis simulation and emphasized their importance in data analysis, risk forecasting, and supporting decision-makers by providing accurate information that enables faster response and more effective crisis management. They also highlighted the importance of integrating intelligent technologies with human expertise to achieve more effective and sustainable decision-making.

The event concluded with the recognition of the speakers, supporting organizations, and participants in appreciation of their valuable contributions to the success of the project and the achievement of its academic objectives. The event reflects Umm Al Quwain University’s commitment to supporting student projects, strengthening collaboration with experts and specialists, and fostering a culture of innovation, scientific research, and community engagement.
