The College of Mass Communication organized the “Afaq 3” Graduation Projects Exhibition for its students during the Summer Semester of the 2025–2026 academic year. The exhibition was held at the University Activities Hall and was attended by Dr. Hani Bakr, Vice Chancellor of Umm Al Quwain University, Dr. Haitham Abdulrahman, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, and faculty members.
The organization of the “Afaq 3” exhibition follows the success achieved by its previous two editions and reflects the College’s commitment to supporting students’ creativity, developing their professional skills, and connecting theoretical knowledge with practical applications in the fields of media and communication.
The exhibition featured a diverse range of innovative graduation projects in the areas of communication and crisis management, new media, and public relations.
The graduation projects addressed a variety of topics, أبرزها raising community awareness about the importance of agriculture through new media and public relations, employing artificial intelligence in crisis simulation and decision-making support, the effectiveness of communication plans in supporting business continuity during crises, and the role of digital media in enhancing public trust in the performance of government institutions during crises.
Several projects also explored the role of institutional communication in managing traffic crises and major accidents, the challenges of institutional communication in securing essential supplies during emergencies, as well as the role of institutional communication in addressing traffic crises resulting from heavy rainfall and floods.
These projects reflected the diversity of students’ interests and their ability to apply academic knowledge and media and communication skills to address real-world issues. They also demonstrated the effective use of modern technologies, artificial intelligence, and digital media in developing innovative media and communication ideas and solutions that serve the community and meet the needs of the labor market.
The exhibition featured an external judging panel comprising distinguished professionals with specialized expertise in media, public relations, and communication. The panel included Mr. Mohammed Al Kashf, Member of the Federal National Council; Dr. Ali Nasser, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Public Relations Association; and journalist Noura Al Mutairi.
The judging panel evaluated the students’ projects according to a range of academic and professional criteria, including the quality and originality of ideas, the level of creativity and innovation, the effective application of media and communication skills, the quality of practical outcomes, and the relevance of the projects to community issues and labor market needs.
The “Afaq 3” Graduation Projects Exhibition concluded with the recognition of participating students and their supervisors in appreciation of their efforts in presenting innovative media and communication projects. The event also aimed to encourage students to continue developing their creativity and professional skills and to contribute actively to serving the community and advancing the media and communication sector.
